Freedom Recovery Gear Vehicle to Vehicle Kit

Freedom Recovery gear sells top quality gear for the Off-Road community.  Their "soft" products are made from Canadian rope and extensively quality tested, and their "hard" products such as shackles are professional gear from the cable rigging industry.

There are a number of weight ratings to choose from, and its important to get the right one for your vehicle.  Too weak and you risk a component failing. Too strong and your rig won't stretch the Kinetic Rope enough to gain any benefit from it.  The pictures below are the kit for Compact SUVs and Crossovers up to 4,000 lbs.

All the six piece kits contain:

Two CE rated hard shackles with a breaking strength 6 times the WLL rating.  Hard Shackles are for attaching to metal recovery points that could damage a soft shackle such as ones that are sharp edged or too small a diameter.

Three Soft Shackles.  Soft Shackles are light weight, easy to use, and don't add to the momentum of a snapped strap or rope.   If you need to use a shackle to join two straps or ropes ONLY use a soft shackle, not a hard one.

A extension rope for a bridle (two point) connection. This is essentially a short piece of winch rope and is not kinetic (not stretchy).

A Kinetic Energy Recovery Rope (KERR).  Recovery Ropes and Recovery Straps stretch to reduce the shock load on the vehicles and then rebound to help with the pull.  Kinetic Recovery Rope is the best choice since it stretches around double the amount that straps do.

And a Water Resistant carrying bag to hold it all.

For comparison of the different rating of kits, the rope on the bottom is from the lightest kit and is suitable for compact SUVs and Crossovers, whereas the rope on the top is from the heaviest kit and is suitable for heavily loaded 4-door Jeeps or for Trucks.

I use and wholeheartedly endorse Freedom Recovery Gear products.  I have personally seen "budget" recovery gear break far far below their supposed rating, and I know the quality control at Freedom Recovery Gear will prevent this from happening.  Like with most things you get what you pay for, and when you are dealing with thousands of pounds of force it's worth investing in the safest gear possible.
